On 2 April 2024, Test Valley Borough Council’s Southern Area Planning Committee approved the application to build a Battery Storage installation in Chilworth, by 7 votes to 4 (with one abstention). As a result an industrial area with security fencing and lighting will be created in the green belt gap between Chilworth and North Baddesley once Boom Developments Limited proceed with construction.
This was opposed by Chilworth Parish Council.
